Manual Order-by-Order Processing in the Portal
I have already created test orders for you, you have acknowledged them, so let’s test a shipment.
Ship an Order with Multiple Items
There are a few ways to do this in the portal. For this test, we are going to ship one order with two items. Choose any of the pending orders.
- Add tracking from the Shipment Pending orders list page. This is best if you have the information you need and just want to quickly add tracking information.
- Select Orders in the side navigation, then Shipment Pending in the sub-navigation, or just click here.
- Select the blue truck on the right side of the page for any of the pending orders.
- Enter a Supplier Order Number, if necessary.
- Edit the Quantity of each item being shipped. Leave the fields as they are for this test as you need to ship both items.
- Enter a dummy Tracking Code, Ship Cost, Ship Date, and Currency Code as necessary.
- Enter the Ship Method matching the requested ship carrier and method on the order.
- Select Save Shipment. Note, that because you are entering a dummy tracking code a validation check will pop up. Select Yes, Save the Shipment As-Is to finalize the shipment.
- Add tracking from the Simple Ship page. This is the best option if you want a view of all pending orders to update multiple shipments at once.
- Select Orders in the side navigation, then Simple Ship in the sub-navigation, or just click here.
- Locate the PO Number of any pending orders you need to update.
- Edit the Quantity of each item being shipped. Leave the fields as they are for this test as you need to ship both items.
- Enter a dummy Tracking Code and Ship Date as necessary.
- Enter the Ship Carrier and Ship Method matching the requested ship carrier and method on the order. This defaults to the requested method, only updated if needed. For the test orders, you MUST ship using the requested carrier/method.
- Select Save Shipment. Note, that because you are entering a dummy tracking code a validation check will pop up. Select Yes, Save the Shipment As-Is to finalize the shipment.
- Add tracking from the Order detail page. Use this if you need to collect more details about the order prior to adding the tracking information.
- Select Orders in the side navigation, then Shipment Pending in the sub-navigation, or just click here.
- Select the PO Number of any of the pending orders to open it.
- Select the Add Tracking button at the top of the page under the navigation.
NOTE: If you are shipping on your Retailer’s carrier account, you should not enter any shipping costs when entering tracking information.
